The United Nations General Assembly Adopts Resolution on Sport for Development and Peace

Sport 4 Development Ireland welcomes a new resolution from the United Nations General Assembly which was passed on the 31st of October this year. The resolution is entitled “Sport as a means to promote education, health, development and peace”. This is a fantastic milestone in the development of the ‘Sport for Development’ concept, and will continue to give the concept a greater voice going forwards. Sport is now being recognised more and more internationally as a means towards promoting education, health, development and peace, and our own aim is to spread the word and to promote the concept here in Ireland.
