Vision Sports Ireland (VSI), Ireland’s premier not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sport and recreation for vision impaired people, is celebrating 35 years of its successful MayFest multi-sport festival in 2017; with events taking place in various venues across Dublin from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st May.
Attendees will have the opportunity to try their hand (or foot) at a wide variety of activities, including athletics, blind golf, blind football, goalball, judo, tandem cycling, tug o’war, vi tennis, as well as a 750k swim, 20k tandem time trial or the MayFest Magic Mile Run.
There will be a number of expert talks given from a number of sports business professionals and sporting legends incl. Jason Smyth (Paralympic Gold Medal winning sprint runner), Denis Toomey (Chef de Mission of Irish Paralympic Team), Peter McKenna (GAA), Rob Hartnett (Sport for Business), Sarah O’Connor (Wilson Hartnell) and many more on topics ranging from media to money as it relates to sport for people with vision impairment.
