Event 1

See Dublin by Bike: Easter Rising Cycle Tour

Keep fit this St. Patrick’s Festival weekend and take a special Easter Rising bike tour to discover the rich history, folklore, unique architecture and atmosphere of Dublin city. ‘See Dublin By Bike’ takes you on a journey through some of the main sites of the Rebellion such as the GPO and Moore Street, where the rebels surrendered, to occupied buildings such as Boland’s Mills and Jacob’s Factory and to Dublin Castle, where government power was centered.

Tour guides re-live the momentous week profiling the main protagonists and offer reflections on the historical context, aftermath and legacy of the rebellion, all against the historical backdrop of Dublin city.

Event 2

In the Footsteps of St. Patrick-Walking Tour

Yet another way to keep you fit this St.Patricks Weekend. The annual St Patrick’s Walk is back again! Enjoy a very special walks in celebration of Ireland’s national patron saint, in the company of professional and enthusiastic guides, led by the renowned Dublin historian and author Pat Liddy. See the places that most tourists and many Dubliners miss! Discover the fascinating truth behind the legend of St. Patrick and the Dublin of his time. The tour finishes with a visit to St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Dates: Fri 18th March, Sat 19th March and Sun 20th March
Times: 11.00am & 2.15pm

Departure point: Corner Suffolk & Andrew Streets beside Molly Malone statue.

Finish point: St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Tour duration: Approximately 2 hours

Prices: €14 (€12 senior/students) per person. The price includes the entrance to St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Please turn up at least 10 mins in advance.

Under 16 with adult free on walk but €4 into Cathedral.

Event 3

St. Patrick’s Festival 5K Road Race

For the more energetic festival goers, take part in the annual Festival 5K Road Race! The course takes you through the heart of beautiful Georgian Dublin and is suitable for families, fun runners and dedicated athletes. You can be assured of a lively atmosphere as street performers, face painters and musicians will be on hand to entertain, and spectators line the route to cheer you on.

Race participants can relax afterwards and take a leisurely stroll down to Merrion Square where the Festival Big Day Out will be in full swing.
